Job description

Role description

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Siting Lead to join our Energy Transition team to support and grow our expanding Siting and Routing business in the Midwestern and Eastern United States. As a Siting Lead, you will be responsible for leading siting for a variety of clients within a range of sectors such as power generation and transmission, oil and gas, and renewable energies. An understanding of routing and siting processes and public outreach strategies is required for this position.

Role accountabilities
  • Managing routing and siting studies.
  • Leading the preparation of state Public Utilities Commission (PUC) siting applications and technical siting reports.
  • Coordinating with public outreach and permitting teams.
  • Developing scope and budgets for siting components of project proposals.
  • Leading the development of siting strategies and coordinating with clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with a diverse team and balancing varying priorities.
  • Operating within a hybrid work structure; remote and office work as needed, with periodic travel (10-15%).
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, urban planning, engineering, biology, ecology, or a similar discipline.
  • 10 years of total experience in the environmental consulting industry, with experience in environmental agencies and commercial roles considered equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting electric transmission line and substation siting projects in the Midwestern and Eastern U.S. for public utilities; experience siting other linear assets such as gas pipelines, railroads, or highways may be considered.
  • Experience supporting applications for CPCN filings in the Midwestern and Eastern U.S.
  • Experience in task management, assistant project management, and the ability to support multiple projects concurrently.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with state siting board regulatory filings outside of the Midwest and Eastern U.S.
  • Experience siting wind, solar, and other renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and raster-based siting studies.

Salary

Salary range for this position is $97,600 – $146,400, depending on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
