Overview

SITEC - Storage Engineer - MacDill AFB. Location: US-FL-MacDill AFB. Requisition ID: 2026-167636. Position Category: Engineering. Clearance: Top Secret/SCI.

Responsibilities

Peraton requires Storage Engineers to support the SITEC-3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance Task Order. The responsibilities and tasks support USSOCOM, its Components, TSOCs, and end users operating globally 24x7x365. Key responsibilities include the following:

• Evaluate existing infrastructure, reporting results and recommendations.
• Install, configure, manage, and maintain backup and storage infrastructure.
• Maintain storage system documentation, including configuration diagrams, topologies, configuration management, inventory, licensing, and SOPs.
• Monitor backup and storage infrastructure health across the enterprise.
• Coordinate across engineering, network, security, and admin teams.
• Manage server and endpoint disaster recovery (DR).
• Provide leadership and training to team members.
• Respond to incidents, reconfigurations, installations, or other physical changes.
• Work with Disaster Recovery (DR) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) teams to develop and ensure backup and recovery strategies and operational integrity.
• Advise on modifications or upgrades to storage equipment and software, including patches and updates from vendors.
• Troubleshoot storage and database-related issues in applications.
• Engage in capacity planning to ensure adequate storage procurement and provisioning across servers and devices per standards and design documents.
• Assess potential problems in advance and escalate to the Service Owner and Architect Storage Engineer for cross-SIE resolution (cloud and on-premise).
• Analyze system performance data from tools such as OS/application logs, Splunk, and RavenVision.
• Develop system documentation and schematic diagrams (using Microsoft Word and Visio).
• Develop solutions to update device firmware, drivers, and utility applications.
• Represent USSOCOM and interface with software and hardware vendors for support issues.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• Min 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years with AS/AA, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with Masters, 3 years with PhD.
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• DoDD 8570.01-M IAT II.
