Job summary

Peraton seeks a Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Engineer to support SITEC-3 EOM at MacDill AFB, Florida. You will lead end-to-end design, deployment, testing, and sustainment of secure cross-domain data transfer across multiple security enclaves.

This role requires coordinating with DoD stakeholders and applying STIGs, change control, and rigorous security practices while delivering high assurance interoperability for USSOCOM networks and end users worldwide.

Qualifications

• Min 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years with AS/AA, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, or 3 years with PhD.
• DoW TS/SCI is required.
• DoW 8570.01-M IAT II.
• Must be DoW8140 compliant under Work Role Code 451.
• Strong understanding of RedHat Linux architecture.

Responsibilities

Peraton requires a Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Engineer to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 EOM. This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

The Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Engineer is the primary technical authority responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, deployment, testing, and sustainment of secure cross-domain data transfer and access technologies. Operating at the intersection of security engineering, boundary protection, and data governance, this role enables secure, unidirectional or bidirectional information exchange across disparate security domains and classification enclaves.

• Architect, size, and deploy approved hardware and software cross-domain systems, including transfer solutions (one-way data diodes, guard architectures) and access solutions (virtual desktop infrastructure across security boundaries)
• Design isolated interconnects, DMZ transit zones, and dedicated out-of-band management planes to prevent protocol bleeding, cross-classification spills, or network loopbacks between secure enclaves.
• Architect fault-tolerant CDS topologies featuring active/standby guard pairs, automated failover paths, and buffer management systems to handle high-throughput mission telemetry without packet loss or interface starvation.
• Author, validate, and maintain complex, deterministic filter policies, schema validations (XML/JSON Schemas, XSDs), and file-type parsers (PDF, Imagery/NITF, Office documents, streaming video) to ensure only authorized data schemas cross boundaries.
• Evaluate requested policy overrides and edge cases against established security baselines, ensuring custom parser additions maintain strict compliance without opening covert communication pathways.
• Execute certified OS updates, microcode patches, and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on guard systems within rigorous change control boards (CCBs).

• Drive engineering and implementation of Cross Domain Solutions that support secure information transfer between classified networks and enclaves.
• Develop and review technical documentation, including system designs, interface control documents, security artifacts, test plans, implementation procedures, and operational runbooks.

• Troubleshoot complex cross domain, network, system, and security issues across classified environments, providing root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
• Serve as a trusted senior engineer for programs requiring secure, reliable, and accredited information sharing across sensitive and mission-critical networks.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
