Job summary

ENCON in Philadelphia, PA seeks an experienced Site Superintendent to lead daily field operations on a 2-year rooftop HVAC project in an occupied facility. Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors, schedules, logistics, and safety, while ensuring work aligns with drawings, specs, and submittals.

The role requires extensive field supervision, federal construction experience, and the ability to manage outages, lifts, and temporary HVAC, with after-hours/weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent on similar projects.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and critical-path schedules.
• Familiarity with EM 385-1-1, hazard identification, and federal construction requirements.
• Federal/NAVFAC/USACE project experience.
• HVAC/mechanical and rooftop-equipment replacement experience.
• Experience performing construction in occupied facilities.
• Electrical, roofing, and commissioning experience.
• OSHA 30 Construction, First Aid/CPR, and applicable competent-person credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily construction activities and field operations.
• Supervise subcontractors, manpower, deliveries, and production.
• Maintain field progress in accordance with the project schedule.
• Coordinate work sequencing, site logistics, facility access, and trade interfaces.
• Oversee installation and replacement activities involving rooftop air-handling units and supporting systems.
• Coordinate equipment lifts, outages, utility cutovers, and temporary heating and cooling.
• Protect occupied areas and existing finishes during construction.
• Coordinate inspection readiness and correction of field deficiencies; support testing, balancing, commissioning, closeout, and turnover.
• Coordinate daily activities with ENCON, the QCM, SSHO, Project Manager, subcontractors, facility representatives, and Government personnel.
• Verify field activities align with drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and project requirements.
