Job summary

Hudbay in Arizona seeks a Site Services Lead to direct daily facility maintenance, infrastructure support, and site service operations for the Copper World Project. You will guide technicians and contractors to ensure high operational standards and facility availability.

The role requires 3+ years in facility maintenance with at least 1 year in a lead role, and expertise in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems, using CMMS and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with tools, equipment, and diagnostic software for facility systems.
  • Capable of working at heights or in confined spaces when required.
  • Strong leadership, positive work ethic, and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Google Workshop and CMMS.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize routine inspections of all site facilities, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Assign and perform complex repairs and maintenance across site facility infrastructure.
  • Lead and oversee the daily maintenance and upkeep of active mine facilities and infrastructure.
  • Oversee the end-to-end preventive maintenance process for facility equipment and systems.
  • Lead efforts in diagnosing and resolving critical mechanical, electrical, and facility-related problems.
  • Provide technical guidance, daily direction, and mentoring to Mine Facility Technicians and support staff.
  • Prepare technical reports detailing facility status, resource usage, contractor performance, and key metrics.

Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Site Services Lead is responsible for leading the daily execution of facility maintenance, infrastructure support, and site service operations for the Copper World Project. This role provides directions to technicians and contractors to maintain high operational standards and facility availability.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintenance & Operations
  • Coordinate and prioritize routine inspections of all site facilities, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Assign and perform complex repairs and maintenance across site facility infrastructure.
  • Lead and oversee the daily maintenance and upkeep of active mine facilities and infrastructure.
  • Oversee the execution and tracking of the light vehicle and mobile equipment maintenance programs.
  • Oversee the end-to-end preventive maintenance process for facility equipment and systems.
  • Lead efforts in diagnosing and resolving critical mechanical, electrical, and facility-related problems
  • Supervise and support the installation, setup, and commissioning of new site equipment and facilities.
Safety & Risk Management
  • Ensure all team and contractor activities strictly meet organizational safety and operational standards.
  • Identify potential facility operational risks and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime.
  • Enforce adherence to all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Participating in safety training programs.
  • Provide immediate onsite leadership and response during facility breakdowns or emergencies.
  • Collaborate closely with mine operations, engineering, and maintenance departments to achieve project goals.
  • Provide technical guidance, daily direction, and mentoring to Mine Facility Technicians and support staff.
  • Prepare technical reports detailing facility status, resource usage, contractor performance, and key metrics.
  • Oversee accurate recordkeeping for facility inspections, work orders, and maintenance logs.
  • Manage and coordinate specialized repair work performed by external vendors and third-party contractors.
  • Manage inventory, tooling, spare parts, and supply requirements needed for site facility operations.
  • Assists in managing facility maintenance supply budgets, tool inventories, and vendor service expenses.
  • Interacts regularly with third-party vendors, specialized repair contractors, and regulatory inspectors as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of facility maintenance experience, with at least 1 year in a lead, or supervisory role.
