The role focuses on preventing unsafe conditions and promoting safe work practices, with training responsibilities and ongoing safety assessments. A two-year college or related experience, proficiency with Excel, and a valid driver’s license are expected, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Knowledge of office administration procedures.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Attention to detail in drafting and proofreading materials.
• Strong spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
• Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
• Well developed organizational skills.
• Valid Driver’s License; ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Develops, recommends and communicates safety strategy to meet goals and safe work practices.
• Plans and coordinates training programs for managers, supervisors, and employees in safety areas.
• Oversees investigations of accidents and incidents and implements corrective actions.
• Reviews accidents/incidents and ensures reports are filed properly and communicated to management.
• Works with project managers to ensure safe worksites and processes.
• Supports safety incentive and awards programs with safety components.
• Conducts comprehensive on-site safety assessments and monitors safety processes.
• Keeps abreast of local, state and federal guidelines and communicates changes.
