Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience, industrial or mechanical preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Cal/OSHA construction regulations.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and multiple trades.
• Experience with high-risk and permit-controlled work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction safety activities at an active pharmaceutical facility.
• Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and client requirements.
• Conduct daily inspections and coordinate correction of unsafe conditions.
• Lead orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and safe work plans.
• Oversee hot work, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, excavation, rigging, lifting, and work at heights.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and facility personnel.
• Participate in pre-task planning and project coordination meetings.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and follow through on corrective actions.Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and permits.
• Support emergency response planning and site-specific safety procedures.

Position Overview

Sonnikson, Inc., an established industrial and mechanical construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to oversee construction safety operations at a pharmaceutical facility in the Sacramento area.

The successful candidate will implement and maintain a proactive safety program, ensure compliance with applicable regulations and site-specific requirements, and work closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and client representatives.

We seek a hands-on safety professional who builds positive relationships with field personnel, identifies hazards before incidents occur, and promotes shared responsibility for safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical processing, or regulated industrial facility experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• CHST, ASP, CSP, or equivalent credentials.
• Process piping, equipment installation, structural steel, and industrial construction experience.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical safety protocols and contamination controls.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $110,000–$145,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
