General Intuition & Medal is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) based in New York City. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the reliability of complex infrastructure handling billions of clips, leading incident responses, and scaling databases. Successful candidates will have startup experience, deep knowledge in GCP and Kubernetes, and excellent communication skills for managing incidents. Qualifications

• Experience in startups and scaling environments.
• Strong judgment between sustainable fixes and temporary patches.
• Hands-on experience with scaling and sharding relational databases.
• Deep knowledge of GCP, Kubernetes, VPC, IAM.
• Proficient in Terraform and managing infrastructure-as-code.
• Strong incident response instincts during high-pressure situations.
• Experience in CI/CD using GitHub Actions.
• Excellent communication skills for incident management.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability across GCP infrastructure, driving improvements.
• Lead end-to-end incident response including postmortems.
• Design and execute database scaling strategies.
• Collaborate with product engineering on infrastructure designs.
• Manage Terraform environments and Kubernetes configurations.
• Maintain observability across the stack.
• Improve CI/CD reliability and delivery pipelines.
• Harden IAM and network hygiene.
