Job summary

Comcast is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own cloud infrastructure, reliability, and observability for the Freewheel BuyerCloud and Revenue Science teams. This role focuses on AWS and Kubernetes-based systems with IaC and modern tooling.

The candidate will design scalable infrastructure, write IaC scripts, and contribute to incident response and on-call rotations. Strong distributed-systems background and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years administration with Linux, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• 3+ years configuration management with CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible.
• 3+ years coding in Python/Java/C++.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Education flexibility: combination of coursework and experience considered.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to own cloud infrastructure, system reliability, and observability for the Freewheel BuyerCloud and Revenue Science teams. Freewheel BuyerCloud (formerly Beeswax) is a massive‑scale, highly available, user‑friendly programmatic demand‑side bidding platform. Revenue Science builds the company's machine learning and AI solutions. Together, these teams run thousands of applications, servers, and containers across multiple regions worldwide — built on AWS and Kubernetes and managed entirely through Infrastructure‑as‑Code.

Job Description

• Design and build infrastructure solutions and tooling to provide high scalability, reliability, and sub‑second performance levels using industry best practices.
• Writing code and scripts to support Infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management, and automated incident resolution.
• Support and extend the observability stack to capture and alert on any issues.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and be an escalation contact for service incidents.
• Write system documentation, playbooks, and other instruction manuals.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large‑scale distributed systems
• At least three (3) years of administration experience with Linux, AWS, and Kubernetes
• At least three (3) years of experience in configuration management using Cloud Formation, Terraform, and Ansible or similar.
• At least three (3) years of experience coding in higher‑level languages, such as Python, Java, or C++
• Strong problem‑solving skills
• Strong verbal / written communication skills
• Education Bachelor's Degree While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
• Certifications (if applicable) Relevant Work Experience 5-7 Years

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified AWS Solutions Architect Associate
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• Skills: DevOps, Kubernetes, Python (Programming Language)

Compensation

Virginia Pay Range: $109,178.41 - $163,767.61

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job‑related, non‑discriminatory factors such as experience.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.

Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non‑sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
