Job summary

Fortinet seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate on-prem SDLC infrastructure for our software R&D and release workflows. You will collaborate with DevOps and security teams to ensure reliability and compliance across platforms.

The role emphasizes automation, performance monitoring, incident response, and documentation of workflows. We value hands-on expertise with virtualization, OpenStack, Ceph, containers, and networking, alongside strong scripting and Linux

Qualifications

• 5+ years of practical experience in SRE/DevOps/Infrastructure/Systems Engineer roles.
• Strong hands-on expertise in VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter, OpenStack, and Ceph storage.
• Experience configuring physical servers, networks, storage appliances and data center ops.
• Deep containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid networking knowledge (VLANs, VPNs, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancers).

Responsibilities

• Participate in designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining on-premise SDLC infrastructure and services.
• Research, experiment, and evaluate innovative technologies to enhance processes with automation.
• Measure, monitor, and optimize service performance to meet SLA/SLO goals.
• Implement and document operational workflows and security controls.
• Troubleshoot service incidents and handle service requests.
• Participate in compliance and certification audits (ISO, SOC2, etc.)

Service Reliability and Security are our top priorities. The successful candidate will work closely with DevOps and Configuration Management teams to build, maintain, and improve various on-premise systems and services for the SDLC of our core products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in designing, implement, deploying, and maintaining on-premise SDLC system infrastructure and services.
• Research, experiment, and evaluate innovative technologies to enhance and streamline current processes and services with automation.
• Measure, monitor, and optimize service performance and availability to meet defined SLA/SLO goals.
• Implement and document operational workflows and security controls.
• Troubleshoot service incidents and handle service requests.
• Participate in compliance and certification audits (ISO, SOC2, etc.)

Job Skills Required:

• 5+ years of practical experience in SRE/DevOps/Infrastructure/Systems Engineer roles;
• Strong hands-on expertise in: VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter; OpenStack and its services (Nova, Neutron, Cinder etc); Software-defined storage (Ceph) and SAN/NAS storage solutions.
• Experience configuring physical servers, network and storage appliances (e.g., Dell, SuperMicro, PureStorage etc.) and data center operations;
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker. Kubernetes)
• Solid understanding of networking (VLANs, VPN, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancers)
• Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible/Terraform/Packer).
• Experience with monitoring/observability systems: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki etc.
• Strong scripting skills (Python and/or Bash)
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix administration (Ubuntu preferred)
• Team player with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to multi-task and quickly react to system/service issues

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with object storage systems.
• Experience with security scanning and compliance tools.
• Experience with network devices (Firewall, switch, load balancer, etc.)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$158,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time, as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors, including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program. Bonus eligibility is reviewed at the time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion.
