Job summary

DSJ Global, on behalf of a confidential automotive manufacturer, seeks a Site Quality Manager for a key Arkansas facility. You will lead quality operations, drive IATF 16949 compliance, and mentor a team of quality professionals to sustain world-class product quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of quality management experience in manufacturing.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience managing direct reports and leading quality teams.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949; certification or lead auditor preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, and Core Quality Tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of quality professionals at the site.
  • Maintain the site's QMS in line with IATF 16949.
  • Represent quality during customer and third-party audits.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and CAPA using 8D and 5 Why.
  • Partner with operations and engineering to reduce defects and improve capability.
  • Monitor KPIs such as PPM, customer complaints, scrap, and audits.
  • Lead customer quality initiatives and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with supplier quality to improve performance.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, and product launches.
  • Coordinate quality activities across multiple sites when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, is seeking a Site Quality Manager to lead all quality operations at a key manufacturing facility. This individual will be responsible for driving quality performance, ensuring compliance with automotive standards, managing customer quality requirements, and leading a team of quality professionals. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, a deep understanding of IATF 16949, and a proven track record of improving quality systems within a manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

The Site Quality Manager will oversee plant-wide quality systems, customer quality initiatives, supplier quality performance, and continuous improvement efforts. This role serves as the quality leader for the facility and partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to ensure world-class product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality professionals, including direct management of quality engineers, supervisors, technicians, and auditors.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Serve as the primary site quality representative during customer audits, third-party audits, and certification activities.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action initiatives utilizing tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Partner with operations and engineering teams to reduce defects, improve process capability, and drive manufacturing excellence.
  • Monitor and report key quality metrics including PPM, customer complaints, scrap, rework, internal nonconformance, and audit findings.
  • Lead customer quality initiatives and ensure timely resolution of customer concerns.
  • Collaborate with supplier quality teams to address quality issues and improve supplier performance.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, and product launch activities to ensure successful introduction of new products and processes.
  • Coordinate quality activities across multiple manufacturing sites when required and share best practices throughout the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with customer‑specific requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the plant.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5+ years of quality management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience required.
  • Proven experience managing direct reports and leading quality teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949; certification or lead auditor experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, and Core Quality Tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) certification.
  • Lead Auditor certification.
  • Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive suppliers.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
