Bracken Construction Company, Inc. seeks an on-site Site Quality Control Manager/Inspector to oversee daily quality inspections and documentation.

This role reports to Bracken's Quality Control Manager and requires strict adherence to AISC and AWS standards on active projects. Responsibilities include inspecting structural steel for verticality, level and elevation, plus welds and bolted connections, with daily detailed reports and coordination with subcontractors.

Qualifications

Job description

The Site Quality Control Manager/Inspector is an onsite position in charge of daily and ongoing quality control inspections and documentation. The Site Quality Control Manager/Inspector reports to Bracken's Quality Control Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel for plumb, level, and elevation per AISC Codes and Standards.
• Inspect welding and handling of welding materials for compliance with drawings and governing standards.
• Inspect bolted structural connections by fastening materials, faying surfaces, tension, etc.
• Assist in the inspection of materials received on the job site.
• Assist in the inspection of all phases of steel erection, equipment installation, etc.
• Perform on site internal audit to confirm or establish compliance with AISC, AWS, and company quality control manual.
• Ensure compliance with AISC and AWS Standards with company subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed and thorough daily inspection reports.
• Work within guidelines provided in company quality control manual and apply codes and standards offered by related governing bodies such as AISC and AWS.
• Work overtime hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
• Regular, punctual attendance is required.

Qualifications

• High School education or the equivalent is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in construction industry and/or welding.
• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings.
• Must have excellent communication skills.

Physical Demands

• Frequently lift 50 pounds.
• Climb and work at heights higher than 300 feet (including in manlifts).
• Excessive amounts of bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
• Occasional travel with overnight stays.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures and a loud and dusty environment.
• Be able to wear all required safety equipment.
