Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing and Recruiting is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Manchester, NH to fill a Controller role. This primary finance leader will own P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, and work closely with Plant and Operations leadership to improve performance.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on accounting and manufacturing experience, strong cost accounting and inventory skills, and the ability to present results to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
• 5+ years accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in manufacturing.
• Strong cost accounting and inventory experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial performance of the site, including P&L reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Prepare and present financial statements, KPIs, and performance metrics to leadership.
• Lead the monthly close while driving process improvements and automation.
• Partner with Plant/Operations on spending, labor, overhead, inventory, and cost improvements.
• Manage inventory analytics and review labor/overhead rates for accurate valuation.
• Develop budgets, monthly forecasts, and weekly flash reporting.
• Collaborate on capital planning, resource allocation, S&OP, and profitability initiatives.
• Provide customer and product-level profitability analysis and support for opportunities.
• Support working capital and cash-flow improvement initiatives.
• Maintain internal controls and support external audit activities.

KBW Financial Staffing and Recruiting is working with a growing manufacturing company in the Manchester, NH area in their search for a Controller. This is a key leadership position supporting a $40-50 million manufacturing operation and will serve as the primary Finance leader at the site. The position will work closely with the Plant Director and Operations leadership and will be responsible for driving financial performance, reporting, and analysis for the facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting and finance professional with strong manufacturing experience who wants to take on significant responsibility and continue to grow their career. The ideal candidate will have strong cost accounting and inventory experience, an understanding of plant operations, and the ability to present financial results and recommendations to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial performance of the manufacturing site, including P&L reporting, analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Prepare and present financial statements, KPIs, and performance metrics to site and executive leadership.
• Lead the monthly close process while identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and automation.
• Partner closely with Plant and Operations leadership on spending, labor, overhead, inventory, and cost improvement opportunities.
• Manage inventory analytics and periodically review labor and overhead rates to ensure accurate inventory valuation and support quoting activities.
• Develop budgets, monthly forecasts, weekly flash reporting, and other financial reporting as needed.
• Partner with Operations on capital planning, resource allocation, S&OP, and initiatives designed to improve profitability and ROI.
• Provide customer and product-level profitability analysis and financial support for commercial opportunities.
• Support working capital and cash-flow improvement initiatives.
• Maintain effective internal controls and support external audit activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong manufacturing cost accounting and inventory experience.
• Experience working closely with plant and operations leadership and understanding the financial impact of manufacturing decisions.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with mid-level to larger ERP systems.

Compensation: $135-165k plus 15% bonus.
