FNS, Inc. is seeking a logistics-focused operations supervisor to oversee in-plant logistics supporting production activities at our Joliet/Matteson facilities.
You will ensure timely material flow, coordinate the VMI Hub, and take ownership of performance during night and weekend shifts. The role requires 3-5 years in logistics or production operations, experience with WMS/MES, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Oversee in-plant logistics operations supporting production activities and ensure smooth and efficient material flow throughout the facility.
Ensure seamless, timely material supply aligned with production schedules and manage end-to-end material flow between processes.
Manage the VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) Hub coordination and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
Take full operational accountability for logistics performance during night and weekend shifts.
Lead and manage the shift workforce (operators and team leaders), ensuring optimal manpower allocation to meet production demands.
Conduct necessary training to ensure team compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
Foster a culture of safety and excellence through active supervision and mentorship.
Respond proactively to operational bottlenecks, such as material shortages, equipment downtime, or logistics delays, to minimize production disruptions.
Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), focusing on production support rates, inventory precision, and overall operational efficiency.
Drive process standardization and continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives to enhance logistics workflows.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments, including Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Procurement, to ensure integrated operations.
Initial training and operations will take place at the FNS Warehouse in Joliet, IL.
Based on business needs, the role may transition to the warehouse in Matteson, IL after approximately 3 months.
During the initial phase (Joliet, IL), standard business hours will apply (non-24/7 operations).
The role may transition to a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
Note: Candidates must be flexible and willing to work night and weekend shifts, as well as take full operational responsibility during assigned shifts.
The base salary range for this role is between $70,000-$80,000 yearly, and your base salary will depend on your experiences, qualifications, and skills.
