Job summary

T&G Constructors seeks an experienced Site Operations Manager to lead field operations for Central Florida projects. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity while guiding subcontractors and crafts to meet plans and timelines.

You’ll report to senior leaders and coordinate with owners, architects, and internal teams, ensuring compliance with design intent and budget. Strong leadership and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive commercial construction experience.
  • At least 3 years leading field operations or construction teams.
  • Ability to read drawings, specs, RFIs, and contract documents.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, scheduling, quality control, and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead foremen and crafts on the project site to ensure delivery.
  • Coordinate between management, field engineering, estimating, and subcontractors.
  • Plan work sequencing, manpower, materials, and equipment needs.

Position Summary

T&G Constructors is seeking an experienced Site Operations Manager to lead day-to-day field operations for commercial construction projects throughout Central Florida. Reporting to the Senior Site Operations Manager or Senior Project Manager, you'll be responsible for transforming project plans into successful execution by driving safety, quality, schedule, productivity, and subcontractor performance. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments, enjoys solving problems in real time, and knows how to keep multiple trades moving toward a common goal. You'll serve as the primary field leader, ensuring every phase of construction is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while building strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities
  • Contributes to development of a thoughtful project pre-plan.
  • Leads foreman and craft employees assigned to the project.
  • Provides liaison between project management, field engineering, estimating, and subcontractors to ensure construction complies with plans and specifications and company quality standards.
  • Keeps senior management informed while maintaining liaison with owner, architect, and design professionals as needed to ensure compliance to design intent and owner satisfactions. Facilitates discovery and correction of contract document "error and omissions" and problem solving.
  • Plans the sequencing of work and determines manpower levels, material quantities and equipment requirements.
  • Takes lead on productivity issues and monitors work performance and efficiency of company employees and subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedules are followed and the project is executed effectively.
  • Ensures compliance with all internal and external record keeping requirements, with particular emphasis on accurately reflecting hours worked and proper coding of activities performed on time cards.
  • Obtains and codes delivery tickets for all items delivered to the job site and expedites weekly to the Project Coordinator for processing.
  • Advises senior level management of potential problems, work interference, or schedule difficulties, while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts. Provide assistance to craft employees in resolving problems.
  • Maintains liaison with project manager and other involved departments (i.e. pre-construction, accounting) as required, supporting construction schedule and timely delivery of required materials and equipment.
  • Practices sound selection and hiring procedures and motivate/support subordinates in developing their capabilities to further company project goals.
  • Responsible for all jobsite safety issues and concerns. Ensure implementation of or adherence to current safety programs and any recommendations made by the Safety Committee. Creates safety awareness throughout the jobsite and maintains OSHA required records. This also includes conducting daily jobsite walkthroughs to identify potential hazards, identifying methods to control or eliminate the hazards, ensuring employees engage in safe and healthful work practices, and ensuring employees receive safety and health training to do their work. Conduct or assist with jobsite Weekly Safety Meetings or Five Minute Safety Talks. Maintains logs and documentation of trainings, inspections, injuries and illnesses, and other safety records. Participates in accident investigations, communicates all accidents to Human Resources and implements necessary corrective actions.
  • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and training skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
  • Reviews proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and schedule.
  • Prepares and provides all weekly project paperwork and daily logs via laptop.
  • If necessary for the jobsite, owns and properly uses all tools and equipment as specified on the list of tool requirements.
  • If necessary for the jobsite, provides hands on carpentry and labor as required by the Field Manager.
  • Willingness to travel for extensive periods, as required.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as directed by the Operations Manager, Senior Site Operations Manager, the Field Manager and/or the Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive commercial construction experience, including at least 3 years leading field operations or construction teams.
  • Demonstrated success supervising multiple subcontractors, foremen, and field personnel on commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and project coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and contract documents.
  • Experience managing manpower planning, productivity, material coordination, and project scheduling.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining safe jobsites.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction scheduling or project management software.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation to project sites.
  • Ability to travel for extended assignments as project needs require.
  • Ability to satisfy project-specific badging and background screening requirements.
  • Personal laptop capable of supporting company software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
  • Experience managing hospitality, multifamily, education, retail, or large commercial construction projects.
Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: $80,000 - $115,000
