Southern Oregon Head Start is seeking a Site Manager 0-5 to lead day-to-day center operations and supervise center staff. The role promotes relationship-based services for children and families and ensures compliance with all licensing rules.
The position requires 2+ years of staff supervision and experience with low-income families, along with a BA/BS in ECE or related field; AA with experience is acceptable.

The Site Manager 0-5 oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned center(s), provides supervision of all center staff and provides guidance, support and leadership to the center team. This position monitors quality provision of relationship-based integrated services provided to children and families. The Site Manager 0-5 represents and promotes Head Start (HS) and Early Head Start (EHS) within the community.

Education: BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or other related degree preferred. AA required or may consider ORO step 9 and 2 years of related experience in lieu of education.
Certification or Accreditation: Agency will assist in obtaining necessary certification if candidate does not already have them such as: CPR/First Aid and Food Handler Certification.
Experience: Minimum 2 years staff supervision and 2 years working with low-income children and families REQUIRED.
Essential Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in the use of computer software programs; strong staff leadership, supervision and effective group facilitation skills; strong desire and ability to collaborate with others; ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines; ability to develop relationships with community partners. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand and follow procedures, ensure safety, and complete required documentation related to the position.

Essential Physical Requirements: This position is classified as Center‑Facing. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. a distance of 25 feet and to push and/or pull up to 40 lbs. a distance of 20 yards. Sufficient mobility, strength, and range of motion to perform standing, walking, balancing, stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, sitting on the floor, reaching, squatting or kneeling, twisting, and ascending or descending steps. Ability to react quickly to the physical actions of children. Ability to sit for extended periods of time as required by the position. Sufficient stamina to perform job duties at the required frequency. Sufficient vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination to perform job duties safely and effectively. Exposure to Hazards: Repetitive motion tasks, sitting/standing for long periods of time, use of personal computer and other office equipment; unpredictable child and parent behavior, exposure to contagious conditions, hazardous chemicals, driving and riding in motor vehicles.
Working Conditions: Indoor office, indoor and outdoor preschool environments, frequent local travel and occasional out of town travel.
