This role lives the Partnership pillar every day.The roleThe Logistics Site Manager (LSM) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, including inventory management, dispatch coordination, customer communication, and service performance. This role works closely with corporate leadership, customers, carrier partners, and internal teams to ensure efficient transportation operations, timely delivery execution, and high levels of customer satisfaction. The LSM is accountable for operational efficiency, safety compliance, problem resolution, KPI performance, and supporting profitability through effective resource management and continuous process improvement.Job DutiesEnsure customer adherence to service-level agreements.Negotiate competitive carrier rates to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of freight by proactively resolving customer and delivery issues.Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customers, and vendors to support effective communication and operational reliability.Respond promptly to emergency situations.Promote and maintain a strong commitment to safety.Gather and communicate information related to inventory, budgets, revenue, and operational risks to corporate leadership.Identify opportunities to grow revenue, improve operational efficiency, and increase profitability.Manage supervisory staff and dispatch personnel.Balance cost considerations with service quality to maintain mutually beneficial partnerships.Maintain accurate, real-time inventory visibility by ensuring inbound and outbound vehicle statuses are updated promptly and discrepancies are resolved quickly.Coordinate pickups and deliveries with dispatch while providing customers with real-time updates and operational insights.Stage vehicles in advance when necessary to reduce dwell time and support timely dispatch.Monitor daily performance metrics and address service issues promptly.Track and manage active and scheduled orders to prevent bottlenecks and ensure timely communication regarding issues or delays.Drive operational consistency through immediate corrective actions and root-cause analysis.Skills RequiredStrong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-management skillsEffective people management and team development abilitiesProcess improvement and operational efficiency expertiseStrong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and transportation or dispatch management systemsStrong understanding of KPI tracking, operational metrics, and performance managementSafety-focused mindset with a positive and professional work ethicAbility to evaluate alternatives and make sound decisions based on service requirements, operational metrics, financial considerations, and customer impactAbility to support budget development and maintain adherence to financial targetsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organizationAbility to remain calm, organized, and professional in high-pressure or fast-paced environmentsStrong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detailEducation & Experience RequirementsPost-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferredMinimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or fleet operationsPrevious supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced operational environment preferredExperience coordinating carriers, drivers, dispatch operations, and customer communicationsProven ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting operational deadlines and service expectationsExperience working with transportation management systems (TMS), inventory systems, and Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrated experience analyzing operational performance metrics and implementing process improvementsStrong understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance within transportation or logistics operationsExperience managing budgets, operational costs, and profitability targets preferredAutomotive transportation or vehicle logistics experience considered an assetKnowledge of carrier management and freight rate negotiation preferredBenefits SummaryUnited Road is proud to offer our full-time employees best-in-class benefits designed to support your health, well-being, and financial security.
