Job summary

Hussmann is seeking a general laborer/technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair HVAC/R systems at commissaries and bases. You may travel between locations in company vehicles, with some overnight stays depending on contracts.

Responsibilities include basic building and electrical tasks, safety adherence, and accurate paperwork using handheld devices. The role requires a high school diploma/GED, 0–5 years of experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain EPA licenses.

Qualifications

• Must have a Valid Driver’s License and a safe driving record.
• Must pass stringent/background check for government facilities access.
• Must have or obtain EPA Refrigeration Licenses per regulations.
• Computer skills at a mid-level are required.
• Physical ability to walk, climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work daytime, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform prescribed routine maintenance on commissary systems and assist diagnosis/repair.
• Collaborate with commissary management to meet location needs and specs.
• Carry out basic labor and construction tasks (painting, wiring, repairs).
• Maintain knowledge of Hussmann products and updates via bulletins.
• Adhere to all safety policies and document work using handheld devices for invoicing.
• Foster excellent customer service with internal and external clients.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

This is a general laborer position that is assigned to a specific Base or Commissary. It may be assigned to more than one Base/Commissary based upon the contracts.The individual would need to be able to travel to more than one location (in an assigned company vehicle) and may require overnight travel, depending upon the contract need.

• Perform prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on commissary systems and work with the Building Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair when necessary.
• Understanding of the specific location contract and partner with the commissary management team to meet the needs and specifications.
• Complete basic general labor and/or construction activities such as painting, electric and wiring, and general building repairs as necessary.
• Maintain a knowledge of Hussmann’s products and new product development through service bulletins, previous issues and announcements.
• Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies and procedures.
• Complete all necessary documents and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate and timely manner including demonstrated ability to utilize handheld computer to complete necessary customer paperwork for invoicing requirements.
• Develop and maintain excellent customer service relations with both internal and external customers.
• Provide coordination and feedback on vendors and subcontractors as required to facilitate and resolve project issues.
• Promote and deliver a positive reflection of the Behaviors for Success.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Required Level: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred - Technical College Diploma or Certificate in Refrigeration.

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE NECESSARY: 0-5 years

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a Valid Driver’s License, appropriate to local requirements and a safe driving record per our Motor Vehicle Policies
• Must be able to pass stringent and elevated background check as required for entry into government facilities
• Must have or be able to obtain required EPA and Refrigeration Licenses based upon Federal and Local regulations
• Must have Computer skills are at mid-level
• Must have physical ability to walk, climb ladders, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must have flexibility to work daytime, evenings and weekends when needed.
