Compensation Range: $24.77 - $28.68 per hour

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Under specific supervision of the Senior Facility Manager and Foreperson, maintains the grounds of all District properties in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness and acts as support services for all trades and custodial supervisors.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
  2. Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  3. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  4. Collect and dispose all leaves, limbs, tree trimming, and refuse
  5. Removes snow from all District parking lots and playgrounds and sands, salts, maintains, repairs and stripes all District parking lots, sports fields and playgrounds.
  6. Performs layout, excavates, assembles and maintains playground structures.
  7. Performs complete mechanical and preventive maintenance of all power equipment.
  8. Operates heavy equipment including end loaders, backhoes, graders, bucket trucks, rollers, etc.
  9. Performs structural demolition as required (interior and exterior).
  10. Moves out buildings, mobile homes and machinery.
  11. Performs complete cement work; including forming flat work, stoops, sign bases, ramps, sidewalks, and other typical work as may be required.
  12. Performs fence and flagpole installation and maintenance.
  13. Provide layout, fabrication and installation of sports equipment and scoreboards.
  14. Install and maintain exterior informational signs and perform trenching for electrical hookups.
  15. Performs brickwork to construct and repair structures.
  16. Performs graffiti removal, including sandblasting, power washing and chemical removal techniques.
  17. Performs welding and fabrication services on vehicles and equipment.
  18. Grades, levels, and installs drainage systems, culverts, headwalls and areaways.
  19. Repairs and/or replaces parking lot and stadium lighting.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience or training. Must maintain a Class "B" CDL driver's license.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
