Job summary

Bilfinger is seeking a Site Leader to oversee total construction efforts at the site, ensuring projects align with design, budget, and schedule. The Site Leader oversees total construction effort at the site to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Responsibilities include interfacing with client representatives, engineering representatives, field craft supervisors, subcontractors, union officials, etc. in a manner that supports best value performance and builds a good relationship. This position has overall responsibility for ensuring the work performed at their location meets the standards outlined in the Company’s Business Principles and Code of Ethics.

Safety Duties:
  • Manage and supervise construction site safety. Actively participate in the site safety program.
  • In conjunction with the Safety Manager, lead the development of the site Safety Goals.
  • Help to develop and support craft employee motivation programs.
  • Implement incident prevention program as outlined in HSE manual.
Other Duties:
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy
  • Serve as liaison between the Project, Company senior leadership, and Client.
  • Manage and supervise project construction and field engineering activities.
  • Manage and interface with other contractors at the site.
  • Establish and foster the Company’s public relations image.
  • Initiate long-range organizational plans and schedules.
  • Know and enforce Company personnel policies.
  • Develop and maintain project staff level.
  • Evaluate staff performances and review salaries.
  • Budget, predict and control indirect accounts.
  • Monitor labor resources; increases/decreases/availability.
  • Monitor field personnel and labor relations.
  • Review subcontract bidders list, bid letters, approve award of subcontracts and review completed subcontracts.
  • Manage financial aspects of projects and contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client
  • Represent the Company and site at internal and external meetings
  • Coordinate corporate activities required to support project operations.
  • As a project team member, ensure the entire team works toward a common goal. Promote interaction between all team members.

Physical Elements

  • Frequently required to monitor project worksite which includes standing, climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, lifting, and bending.

Education: 2 year Associates of Construction Management or 4 year Engineering degree or related Construction degree. Plus 10 - 15 years equivalent industrial facility construction management experience.

Additional Skills: Advanced knowledge of the construction industry and company operations required. Project Scheduling or Cost Management is a plus.
