Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited is seeking an experienced on-site IT engineer to provide deskside support across desktop, printer, and OT environments in a shopfloor setting. You will troubleshoot Windows/Mac systems, networks, and OT devices, and act as the face of IT at the site.

You will manage asset inventory, support printers and RF scanners, and coordinate with vendors to minimize downtime. Strong ITIL/process knowledge and excellent communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7yrs hands on dedicated on-site/ deskside IT engineer experience.
• Strong Windows and macOS installation and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on support for Network, Datacentre devices, and OT/PLC environments.
• Desktop hardware, software, and networking knowledge.
• Experience with printers, RF scanners, and rugged devices.
• Knowledge of SCCM, Intune, AD, and JAMF.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Setup and troubleshoot printer/faxes, phones, and OT devices.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity and diagnose hardware/software issues.
• Act as the primary IT owner at site and drive resolution with minimal downtime.
• Provide frontline support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, RF scanners.
• Maintain data closets and perform daily health checks on IT infrastructure.
• Coordinate with IT/OT vendors and keep site up and running.
• Lead P1 issue resolution and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Create KB articles and document processes.
