Job summary

Unique Industries, Inc. is seeking a Site IT Manager to oversee IT support, infrastructure, and end-user computing for the manufacturing and distribution campus. This hands-on leadership role combines engineering and management to ensure secure, available systems and productive IT operations.

You will lead local IT staff, coordinate with corporate IT, and drive projects like system rollouts, upgrades, and security enhancements while maintaining strict asset and incident management processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role managing IT staff.
• Strong IT engineering background in Windows Server Administration, Server Virtualization, and Active Directory.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified (MCSA, MCP), Cisco CCNA, or ITIL are preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and crawl under desks or work overhead and on ladders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily IT operations to ensure system availability, performance, and security.
• Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Ensure support coverage and quick resolution of critical incidents impacting production.
• Enter and track IT support incidents and requests using the corporate ITSM.
• Create and review IT Support reports to identify support trends.
• Follow asset management procedures and maintain accurate inventory of all IT assets.
• Manage and maintain site IT infrastructure including LAN/WAN, servers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and VoIP following corporate policies and standards.
• Plan and lead IT projects such as system rollouts, infrastructure upgrades, and security enhancements.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee third-party service providers.
• Enforce corporate cybersecurity policies and implement endpoint protection, patching, and monitoring.

About Our Opportunity

The Site IT Manager is responsible for all IT support, infrastructure and end user computing for the manufacturing and/or distribution campus. This is a hands-on position which will require both IT Engineering and Managerial skill sets. Primary responsibilities include overseeing support and IT ticket management to ensure timely resolution of technical issues. This entails maintaining and securing all IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network, to guarantee operational efficiency and data protection. Acting as a liaison between business operations and the IT department, the Site IT Manager facilitates effective communication and alignment of IT services with business needs. Additionally, this position involves managing and guiding local IT staff, providing leadership, training, and support to foster a productive and cohesive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and implement system upgrades, patching, migrations, and improvements following established operating procedures
• Work with the IT Applications Team and Third-Party Vendors to support and maintain IT systems essential to manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution (MES, WMS, SCADA, labeling, RF scanners, etc.)
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and IT Applications Teams to ensure technology aligns with business needs.
• Lead, mentor, and manage on-site IT Support Technician(s)
• Assign responsibilities, set performance goals, and conduct regular evaluations
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and excellent customer service
• Plan and lead IT projects such as system rollouts, infrastructure upgrades, and security enhancements
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee third-party service providers
• Enforce corporate cybersecurity policies and implement endpoint protection, patching, and monitoring
• Act as the primary liaison between the site and corporate IT teams
• Provide reports, updates, and insights on local IT performance, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Deliver training and user support to promote efficient use of IT resources
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong IT engineering background in Windows Server Administration, Server Virtualization, and Active Directory.
• Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of progressive IT experience, 2+ years of experience managing or leading IT staff
• One or more of the following certification is preferred:
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified (MCSA, MCP), Cisco CCNA, or ITIL.
  • Experience in regulated industries or environments with quality/compliance standards
  • Exposure to PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or other project management and/or operational excellence and frameworks.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. and have the ability to crawl under desks and work overhead and on ladders.
• Network routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
