Job summary

P17 Solutions is seeking experienced Site Engineers to lead field teams and mentor on NAS integration, migrating legacy TDM to IP-based networks, and delivering hands-on infrastructure support across multiple sites. You will oversee technical activities, ensure smooth deployments, and coordinate with FAA and contractor teams.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in telecom network engineering, strong BGP/TCP/IP/MPLS/IPv6 knowledge, fiber optics experience, and eligibility for a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• College degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning.
• Deep technical command of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6, specifically telecommunications infrastructure for TDM-to-IP conversion.
• Hands-on experience with optical networking (fiber) and telecom infrastructure hardware.
• Proven ability to model network growth and optimize capacity during large-scale system upgrades.
• Telecommunications infrastructure experience with ground networks, air to ground systems and technologies.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Technical Integration: Support the integration, implementation, and testing of NAS systems, providing technical direction to field teams and owning assigned activities.
• Legacy-to-IP Migrations: Manage MW activities for migrating legacy TDM circuits to IP-based infrastructure, including activation, cutover coordination, testing.
• Provide Hands‑On Infrastructure Support: Configure, test, troubleshoot network infrastructure, protocols, servers, and related hardware across multiple sites.
• Identify and Resolve Technical Risks: Analyze data to identify trends and risks; develop corrective actions.
• Communicate Technical Status and Results: Produce clear status reports and update technical documentation.

Position Description

P17 Solutions is seeking experienced Site Engineers to serve as a technical lead and mentor for the West Service Area field team, providing technical guidance and oversight while remaining actively engaged in hands‑on technical work. The position supports the physical and logical integration of fiber‑optic and IP‑based circuits and coordinates technical activities associated with transitioning legacy copper and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) systems to modern fiber and IP network infrastructure across the National Airspace System (NAS).

Responsibilities

• Technical Integration: Support the integration, implementation, and testing of systems supporting the National Airspace System (NAS). Provide technical direction to field teams and take ownership of assigned technical and project activities.
• Legacy-to-IP Migrations: Manage technical activities throughout the network infrastructure lifecycle, from planning and site preparation through implementation and final deployment. Direct the migration of legacy TDM circuits to IP‑based infrastructure, including circuit activation, cutover coordination, troubleshooting, and performance testing.
• Provide Hands‑On Infrastructure Support: Perform hands‑on configuration, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, protocols, servers, and related hardware. Resolve complex technical issues encountered during deployments across multiple sites and geographic areas.
• Identify and Resolve Technical Risks: Analyze operational and technical data to identify trends, emerging issues, dependencies, and potential performance risks. Develop and recommend corrective actions to maintain successful implementation and operational performance.
• Communicate Technical Status and Results: Develop and deliver clear, actionable status reports and update technical documentation.

Skills Required

• College degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline (or equivalent military or field experience).
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience in telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning.
• Deep technical command of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6, specifically telecommunications infrastructure for TDM‑to‑IP conversion.
• Hands‑on experience with optical networking (fiber), telecom network infrastructure hardware, server‑level deployments, testing, validation and acceptance.
• Proven ability to model network growth and optimize capacity during large‑scale system upgrades.
• Telecommunications infrastructure experience with ground networks, air to ground systems and technologies.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Skills Preferred

• Experience leading the technical integration side of large infrastructure initiatives; ability to apply project management methodologies to ensure delivery, compliance, and mission alignment.
• Working knowledge of cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support hybrid NAS environments.
• Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent
• Familiarity with FAA BNATCS protocols or similar mission‑critical government network standards

Work Environment & Travel

• Must reside within 90‑mile radius of a site listed / hired for; no relocation assistance
• Work is primarily performed on‑site at FAA facilities across the NAS, with additional work at contractor or integrator facilities as required.
• Position requires regional travel to FAA sites in support of surveys and installation.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay will be commensurate with experience, based on qualifications, certifications, location, clearance level, and contract requirements.
