Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or project-based environments, with at least 5 years leading EHS programs.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% across North America to support wider regional EHS initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or project‑based environments, combined with at least 5 years of experience leading EHS programs, including operational risk management, regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and EHS management systems.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

• Management Systems: Experience implementing or managing ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
• Contractor & Stakeholder Management: Experience managing contractor EHS and working with consultants, customers and regulatory authorities.
• Expertise: Strong command of US federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA/EPA).
• Launch Experience: Demonstrated success in facility start‑ups, expansions, or commissioning projects.
• Certifications: Professional certification (CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Influence: Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and thrive in a matrixed organization.
• Adaptability: Willingness to travel up to 30% across North America to support wider regional EHS initiatives.

Location & Travel

Salt Lake City Area, Utah, USA – Grid Automation (GA), North America.

This is primarily a site‑based leadership role supporting both the establishment and long‑term operation of the Salt Lake City manufacturing facility.

The Site EHS Leader will play a critical role in embedding a strong EHS culture from greenfield establishment through commissioning, production launch, ramp‑up and continued manufacturing growth.

Travel of up to 30% may be required based on business needs, including travel to GE Vernova facilities, customer and project sites, audits, investigations, training and other NAM EHS activities.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $99,200.00 and $165,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
