Job summary

South Sound YMCA is seeking a Site Director substitute for the School Age Child Care Program. You will support the site director, supervise staff and volunteers, and help maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging environment for youth.

You will ensure licensing compliance, manage paperwork, and coordinate enrichment activities with staff. The role requires DCYF training, background checks, and vaccination proof, along with strong relationships with families and school partners.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must have completed 30 college credits in any 100-level or above coursework.
• Provide college transcripts for evaluation.
• At least two years of experience working with children/volunteers.
• Meet DCYF training standards including 30-hour basics and 10 yearly hours.
• Complete DCYF trainings within 7 days of employment.
• Pass DCYF and SSYMCA background check.
• Provide proof of TB and MMR vaccination/immunization within 7 days of employment.
• Have First Aid, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens trainings within 45 days.
• Have New Employee Orientation within 45 days.
• Maintain Food Handlers Card within first 7 days or have current card.
• Provide proof of Auto Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Be available for up to 3 shifts per week or up to 12 shifts per month for the Y-care program.
• Temporarily supervise staff/volunteers to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
• Monitor whereabouts of youth inside and outside during activities for safety.
• Assist in implementing enrichment activities and involve staff in delivery.
• Maintain positive relationships with children, parents/guardians, and school staff.
• Ensure required supplies are available during planning hours.
• Read licensing regulations and report issues to the Program Director.
• Submit completed paperwork by deadlines.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings as required.
• Document injuries and incidents and file reports as needed.
• Follow policy manual guidelines and maintain professional appearance.
• Keep site clean and compliant with school district standards.

Supports the reporting and documenting of all injuries, accidents, and incidents for Y-care youth and staff, and filing the appropriate reports related to behavior, injury, accidents, etc.11. Possess at least two years of experience working with children; volunteers; cooperate with school personnel in a positive, professional manner; maintain a facility in accordance with state licensing regulations and YMCA requirements; relate well to children and their families.5. Training: meet and maintain training standards set by the state of Washington as a childcare professional, including completion of 30-hour childcare basics training and 10 additional yearly hours.6. Complete required DCYF trainings within the first 7 days of employment.7. Pass background check through DCYF and SSYMCA.8.
