Job summary

South Sound YMCA is seeking a Site Director to oversee the School Age Child Care Program and supervise staff during absences of the Site Director. The role includes maintaining safety, coordinating enrichment activities, and ensuring compliance with state licensing and YMCA policies.

The candidate will manage time & attendance in Paycom, collaborate with families and school staff, and participate in required trainings. A strong commitment to youth development and community wellbeing is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children; ability to work with staff and parents.
  • Must meet Washington state childcare training requirements (30-hour basics + 10 additional hours yearly).
  • Complete DCYF trainings within first 7 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff/volunteers to ensure a safe, healthy program.
  • Maintain relationships with children, families, and school staff.
  • Monitor youth for safety and enforce open-space supervision.
  • Assist in implementing enrichment activities with staff involvement.
  • Read licensing regulations and report issues to the Program Director.
  • Ensure supplies and paperwork are kept up to date.
  • Attend trainings and staff meetings as required.
  • Document injuries and incidents and file reports per policy.
  • Maintain neat dress code and professional appearance.

Supervise staff/volunteers to provide a safe and healthy environment and a quality program.2. Maintains good YMCA relationships with children, parents/guardians, community and school staff.3. Supports the monitoring of and whereabouts of Y-care youth both inside and especially outside whenplaying in the open to meet safety standards and protocols.4. Supports in implementing enrichment activities and appropriately involves staff in its delivery.5. Reads and becomes familiar with licensing regulations; sees that the program meets all therequirements as set by the State; immediately reports any problems to the assigned Program Director.6. Sees that all appropriate supplies required to run a quality program are available during scheduledplanning hours.7. Turn in completed paperwork by required deadlines.8. Attend required and appropriate trainings and staff meetings.9. Supports the reporting and documenting of all injuries, accidents, and incidents for Y-care youth and staff, and filing the appropriate reports related to behavior, injury, accidents, etc.10. Maintain accurate time and attendance records through Paycom system.13. Education: Completed 30 college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by DCYF (Department of Children Youth and Families).3. Submit your college transcripts to MERIT for evaluation.4. Possess at least two years of experience working with children; volunteers; cooperate with school personnel in a positive, professional manner; maintain a facility in accordance with state licensing regulations and YMCA requirements; relate well to children and their families.5. Training: meet and maintain training standards set by the state of Washington as a childcare professional, including completion of 30-hour childcare basics training and 10 additional yearly hours.6. Complete required DCYF trainings within the first 7 days of employment.7. Pass background check through DCYF and SSYMCA.8. Provide proof of current TB and MMR vaccination/immunization records upon hire, must be completed within the first 7 days of employment and prior to first day of working with children.Has the following documentation on file at the site, the YMCA Child Care Office, and digitally on the employee’s Paycom profile within expressed time limits after hire:• First Aid, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens training completed within 45 days of hire• New Employee Orientation completed within 45 days of hire• Food Handlers Card completed within the first 7 days of employment or have a current Food Handlers Card• Proof of Auto Insurance.
