Job summary

Fehr Graham is seeking a Project Manager - Site Development Engineer in Rockford, IL to lead site development projects from concept to completion for residential, commercial, municipal and industrial clients, delivering design excellence under quality standards.

You will manage and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and technicians, prepare proposals and presentations, coordinate with clients and regulators, and drive project scopes, budgets, and schedules to successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license in Wisconsin or Illinois, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 5+ years of civil/site development and project management experience.
• Proven track record in land development, commercial, industrial, or municipal projects.
• Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater, roadway design, and utilities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software.
• Excellent communication and leadership across teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Be the go-to contact for clients, ensuring needs are met with precision and professionalism.
• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships and deliver proposals, contracts and presentations.
• Manage all phases of site development and civil engineering projects from planning to construction.
• Lead and mentor engineers, designers, and technicians to deliver quality outcomes.
• Prepare and review plans, specifications, and reports for grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules aligned with client expectations.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout lifecycle.
• Support business development by attending client meetings and identifying opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and permitting processes.
