Job summary

DEPCOM Power, Inc, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Site Development Engineer to support project development, bidding and execution for utility-scale solar projects. Ideally based in Pleasanton, CA, the role focuses on preliminary site plans, BOMs, and civil design work for EPC/O&M projects.

You will collaborate with engineering and construction teams, review surveys and permits, and contribute to design optimization while meeting project schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Experience in design and engineering in construction, transportation, renewables, data center, or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop Preliminary Site Plans and Class 0 BOM to support project development, bidding and estimating.
• Review documents and provide technical support including ALTA surveys, topographic assessments, permits, hydrology studies.
• Produce high quality Site Plans and Class 1 BOM for other engineering disciplines and construction teams.
• Perform fundamental civil design: surface analysis, watershed analysis, preliminary grading.
• Collaborate with other departments to support execution and construction and ensure schedule adherence.
• Attend internal and external meetings and seek process improvements.

Your Job

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for a Site Development Engineer. This role will ideally be based out of DEPCOM's Pleasanton, CA office. DEPCOM is a leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), Operation and Maintenance (O&M), Repowering and Energy Storage services for the U.S. utility solar and energy industries.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Develop Preliminary Site Plans and Class 0 Bill of Materials to support project development engineering, bidding and estimating, and business development during the project bidding phase
• Perform document reviews and offer technical support, including but not limited to ALTA surveys, topographic assessments, conditional use permits, hydrology studies and environmental site assessments
• Produce high quality, constructable Site Plans and Class 1 Bill of Materials to other engineering disciplines and construction team
• Conduct fundamental civil design work, including surface analysis, watershed analysis, and preliminary grading, etc
• Collaborate with other departments to provide support during execution and construction phases, ensuring adherence to the project schedule
• Attend internal and external meeting as needed
• Enhance team performance by actively seeking opportunities for process improvement and design optimization

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
• Experience in design and engineering in construction, transportation, renewables, oil & gas, data center, or other industrial or commercial industries

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience in utility-scale solar design software (PVfarm, etc.)
• Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering or Science
• Experience in civil design and engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer or FE candidate or seeking a Professional Engineering License
• Experience in programming for design automation

For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000-$120,000 based on experience. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
