Job summary

ProAmpac Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Plant Controller for our Rocky Mount, NC manufacturing site. This leadership role partners with plant leadership to drive profitability, cost control, and operational excellence across accounting, reporting, and forecasting.

You will lead month-end close, cost accounting, budgeting, and working capital optimization while ensuring strong internal controls and actionable financial insights for operational decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 10+ years in progressive finance roles within manufacturing.
• Experience as Plant Controller or senior manufacturing finance leader preferred.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations with high complexity, ideally a $100M+ facility.

Responsibilities

Compensation

$110,000 - $130,000 base salary plus annual bonus opportunity.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for our Rocky Mount manufacturing facility. This highly visible role serves as a key business partner to plant leadership, providing financial guidance that supports operational excellence, cost control, inventory management, and profitability.

The Plant Controller will oversee all aspects of plant accounting, including financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger management, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and working capital optimization.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong manufacturing accounting background, experience supporting plant operations, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights that drive performance.

This position works closely with plant leadership, operations teams, FP&A, and corporate finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support strategic decision-making across the facility.

What You’ll Do

• Lead all plant accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Manage the monthly close process, general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, cost analysis, margin reporting, and manufacturing cost controls.
• Partner with plant leadership to provide financial guidance and support operational decision-making.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Drive financial excellence through cost reduction initiatives, working capital improvements, and margin enhancement opportunities.
• Monitor and improve inventory controls, inventory accuracy, and inventory valuation processes.
• Analyze manufacturing performance, operating results, and key financial metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
• Prepare and present financial analyses, reports, and recommendations to plant and finance leadership.
• Support capital investment decisions, continuous improvement initiatives, and strategic operational projects.
• Strengthen financial processes, reporting capabilities, and internal controls across the site.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to improve cost visibility and business performance.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Prior Plant Controller or senior manufacturing finance leadership experience preferred.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations with significant operational complexity, ideally a $100M+ facility.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, inventory management, cost controls, and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to partner with Plant Managers and operations leaders to drive financial and operational results.
• Experience analyzing financial data and presenting recommendations to leadership teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation.
• Multi-site or complex manufacturing experience.
• Proven success improving working capital, inventory performance, and material margins.
• ERP implementation or system optimization experience.
• Experience presenting financial results and recommendations to executive leadership.
