Job summary

Mesabi Metallics is seeking a senior Construction Manager to lead day-to-day field execution for the Mesabi ISP Project. You will ensure work is performed safely, on schedule, and within budget, coordinating with contractors and project leadership.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 15–20 years of construction management experience in large industrial projects, with strong leadership to guide multidisciplinary teams on a greenfield site in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• 15-20 years of experience in construction management on large-scale industrial or steel plant projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety programs, and quality assurance practices for heavy industrial facilities.
• Experience with construction scheduling, cost tracking, and change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction execution for assigned scope and budget.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors and field personnel.
• Monitor progress against the master schedule and address delays.
• Enforce site safety programs and compliance with regs.
• Oversee QA/QC to meet specs and codes.
• Coordinate interfaces among civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping.
• Manage field-level change orders, RFIs, and issues with engineering.
• Lead site progress meetings and contractor reviews.
• Support procurement and logistics for materials and equipment.
• Prepare progress reports, manpower forecasts, and productivity analyses.
• Support commissioning handover and start-up readiness.
• Mentor and manage construction superintendents, field engineers, and staff.
