Job summary

Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is hiring for a Site Civil EIT/Coordinator in Dallas, Texas. You will assist in design tasks, develop site layouts, and mentor junior staff within a collaborative team. This full-time role entails engaging with jurisdictional authorities and preparing engineering calculations.

The ideal candidate should hold or be able to obtain an Engineer in Training certificate and have familiarity with CAD software. A commitment to the company culture is essential.

Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam Revu.

Responsibilities

In the role of a Site Civil EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

• Assist on tasks associated with design and plan production for site development projects (layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, site utilities, etc.).
• Develop concept site layouts that are compliant with all jurisdictional requirements.
• Help prepare site civil engineering calculations in support of the site development (stormwater pond sizing, culvert and pipe capacity analysis, hydrology calculations, etc.).
• Coordinate with jurisdictional authority to determine design and submittal requirements and determine design solutions.
• Perform administrative tasks associated with preparation of specifications, contract documents, and permit submittals.
• Attend and contribute to client meetings.
• Coordinate with subconsultants for support and design services.

Preferred Qualifications

Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.

• Familiarity with CAD software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and specialty site civil engineering software (e.g., HydroCAD, Autodesk Hydraflow Extensions, etc.) as required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam Revu.
