Job summary

CAE Simulator Technician in Eagan, MN maintains and troubleshoots CAE and non-CAE flight simulators and related equipment at the CAE Training Center. The role supports preventive maintenance, training, and refurbishment projects, while adhering to the company’s QMS and safety standards.

We require an associate degree or equivalent experience, hands-on electronics knowledge, and strong English communication. Travel internationally and a flexible schedule are possible as part of this position.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree (2-year technical degree) or 4 years of experience in electronics, avionics, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, system prints, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment and PC literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine technical tasks in a simulator, laboratory, office, plant, or field environment.
  • Learn and perform preventive maintenance activities on simulators and associated systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct issues on simulators and related systems.
  • Record maintenance activities in the maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Provide customer service support and ensure timely responses to needs.

If this sounds like an amazing opportunity for you, *Our Doors are Open* (watch here): |The incumbent will support the following roles and responsibilities:**Description*** Perform routine technical tasks in a simulator, laboratory, office, plant, or field environment.* Receive training in the various phases of laboratory, office, plant, and field technical work.* Learn and perform preventive maintenance activities on simulators and associated simulator systems.* Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and correcting issues on simulators and associated simulator systems.* Utilize the maintenance management system to record, document, and track maintenance activities.* Complete all assigned training and development activities.* Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks on designated simulators.* Conduct basic visual alignments.* Execute automated Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures.* Assist with simulator refurbishment projects and hardware modifications.* Learn and comply with the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.* Provide customer service support and respond to customer needs in a timely manner.* Perform housekeeping activities necessary to maintain simulator readiness and cleanliness.* Support logistics activities, including receiving parts, coordinating repairs, and conducting testing and validation.* Complete administrative tasks as assigned.* Provide operational support to the Technical Services team as required.**Minimum Qualifications*** Associate degree (2-year technical degree) in a technical discipline, or 4 years of experience in an electronics, avionics, or related technical field.* 0-2 years of relevant technical experience.* Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to changing shift requirements.* Ability to interpret technical drawings, system prints, and schematics.* Proficiency in using electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and logic analyzers.* Knowledge of analog and digital electronic theory.* Computer literacy, including familiarity with PC hardware, software, and computer system architecture.* Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repair techniques.* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.* Ability to communicate effectively in English.**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience supporting simulation, training, aviation, electronics, or technical equipment environments.* Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).* Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a technical environment.* Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment testin**Physical Efforts:**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
