Job summary

V2X, Inc. is seeking a Simulator Technician II in Fort Benning, GA to perform scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on aviation simulation platforms. You will log activities in InSITE, verify interoperability, and coordinate with training leads to minimize downtime.

The role requires Windows/Linux/Unix knowledge, PPE use, and the ability to install upgrades and troubleshoot hardware/software components. A DoD Secret clearance eligibility is anticipated.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements include basic computer and networking skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and On-Post driving privileges required.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Experience using test equipment such as torque wrenches, voltmeters, micrometers, network testers, and solder stations.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
  • Electrical and mechanical adjustment, component replacement and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled, preventive, corrective maintenance and configuration on the CCTT Platform per manuals or checklists.
  • Coordinates with leads to avoid conflicts with training, exercises, and testing.
  • Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSITE.
  • Adheres to warranty terms and tracks items by part number and serial number.
  • Sets up and tests simulation equipment for interoperability and operation verification.
  • Analyzes maintenance trends and manages obsolescence to improve system reliability.
  • Installs modifications or upgrade kits per manufacturer instructions.
  • May install and maintain software/hardware and manage patches for installed systems.

Simulator Technician II - Fort Benning, Georgia

Assist in the performance of scheduled, preventive, corrective maintenance and configuration on the CCTT Platform following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklist in InSITE, or industry best practices when no checklist is available. Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSITE. Adheres to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location. Monitors hardware baselines, reverting to previous versions if updates fail.

Responsibilities
  • Simulator Technician II Performs scheduled, preventive, corrective maintenance and configuration on the virtual ground Aviation Flight Simulators, Aviation Maintenance Simulators, Gunnery-V, CCTT, and AVCATT simulation equipment following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklists, or industry best practices when no checklist is available.
  • Coordinates with leads to ensure maintenance tasks do not conflict with training, exercises, and testing.
  • Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSITE.
  • Adheres to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location.
  • Sets up and tests simulation equipment to confirm all components work as expected, including interoperability and operation verification.
  • Analyzes maintenance trends, tracks component consumption, manages obsolescence, implements risk management strategies, and conducts failure analysis to minimize risks and improve system reliability.
  • Installs modifications or upgrade kits as per manufacturer's instructions.
  • May also be responsible for installing and maintaining software and hardware installs and managing patches and security compliance for installed applications and operating systems.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Intermediate computer and networking skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.
  • Must be able to obtain / maintain a valid driver’s license and On-Post driving privileges.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Experience utilizing test equipment to include torque wrenches, volt / micrometers, network cable crimping/testers and solder stations to support repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as necessary.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical adjustment, remove, and replace failed components, and make repairs on equipment.
Education / Professional Experience
  • Master's degree plus one (1) year of relevant experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of relevant experience OR
  • Associates degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience OR
  • No degree and six (6) years of relevant experience.

NACI Background

Ability to Obtain and Maintain DoD Secret within 6 months of hire date

Certifications

Basic Electronic Technical Certificate IAW ISO 17024 standards

  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
