Job summary

University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a temporary CSI technician to support daily operations, maintain simulators and lab equipment, manage supplies, and assist with all stages of simulation experiences within the Nursing Department.

The role requires a high school diploma and current enrollment in the UA Little Rock AAS nursing program; simulation/medical experience is preferred. This is a clerical, non-title position with safety standards in place.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Currently enrolled in UA Little Rock School of Nursing AAS program.
• Simulation, nursing, and/or medical experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operation of the Center for Simulation Innovation (CSI).
• Maintain Human Simulators and Lab Equipment; manage CSI resources.
• Manage Simulation Lab Supplies and inventories.
• Perform Pre-Simulation Activities to prepare scenarios.
• Execute Simulation Experiences as directed by faculty.
• Perform Post-Simulation Activities and documentation.
• Provide technical support to faculty and students.
• Maintain documentation and resources for CSI activities.
• Support ongoing Professional Development related to simulation.

Summary of Job Duties:

Support the daily operation of the Center for Simulation Innovation, maintain Human Simulators and lab equipment, manage Simulation Lab supplies, perform Pre-Simulation activities, execute Simulation experience, perform post-simulation activities, provide technical support, maintain documentation and resources, and maintain Professional Development. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and or Experience:

• High school diploma;
• Currently enrolled in the AAS nursing program at the UA Little Rock School of Nursing.

Preferred Education and or Experience:

• Simulation, nursing, and/or medical experience is preferred by not required.

• Knowledge of basic simulation principles;
• Knowledge of basic simulation equipment;

• Ability to ensure appropriate setup and breakdown of simulation skills and scenarios including manikins, task trainers, hospital equipment, and supplies;
• Ability to lift up to50 lbs;
• Ability to effectively communicate with simulation faculty, staff, and students;
• Ability to anticipate needs and initiate tasks without direct supervision;
• Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing simulation demands as needed;
• Ability to maintain simulation center cleanliness;
• Ability to professionally conduct simulation center tours.
