Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Simulation Engineer – Discrete Event Simulation (DES). This role is responsible for developing manufacturing simulation models, analyzing production capacity and throughput, and identifying bottlenecks and optimization opportunities for new and expanding manufacturing operations.
Job Duties
- Build discrete event simulation models in Autodesk FlexSim for manufacturing and material flow applications
- Develop models for production lines, inter-process buffers, automated storage systems, material movement, and factory flow
- Translate production demand, shift patterns, product mix, first-pass yield, MTBF/MTTR, and process requirements into simulation scenarios
- Perform scenario, sensitivity, and experiment analyses using FlexSim Experimenter
- Analyze throughput, capacity, overspeed, OEE/TEE, buffer sizing, work-in-process, and jobs-per-shift requirements
- Identify production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and manufacturing risks through simulation
- Prepare technical reports and presentations documenting throughput, capacity, space, and operational trade-offs
- Partner with factory layout, material flow, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams to support production system design
