Overview
Electronic Warfare (EW) is a growing enterprise that protects warfighters and national security from evolving threats. Leidos invites a Signal Processing Engineer in either Arlington, VA or San Diego, CA to enhance sensor and signal robustness for EW programs. The role involves advancing cutting‑edge research and collaborating with scientists, with potential leadership opportunities for motivated candidates.
Regular Tasks
- Develop, model, and test algorithms using Matlab, Simulink, or C++.
- Analyze results from simulations or real data to identify root causes and trends.
- Develop novel and advanced algorithms, performance simulations, and analysis across time‑series and spectral domains.
- Participate in lab‑based and field testing.
- Support marketing and business development initiatives.
- Engage with customers across multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen.
- Active Secret clearance and eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in radar signal processing.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, Linux, Mathematica, Python, Simulink, C/C++, and Java.
- Working knowledge of digital filtering, spectral estimation, detection and estimation theory, linear algebra, and stochastic processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively or independently.
- Adaptability and motivation to learn new areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience leading teams or projects.
- Experience translating functional requirements into tasks.
- Experience in modeling and simulation, radar, adaptive radar, signal processing, algorithm development, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), or related fields.
