Job summary

FASTSIGNS is hiring a full-time Sign Production Specialist in the Mesa, AZ area to join our team. You will follow layouts to apply vinyl or full-color graphics on substrates and prepare surfaces by cutting, laminating, and cleaning.

You will weed vinyl, operate printers, and ensure quality by reviewing work orders. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of sign production experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift 50+ pounds.

• Flexibility to lean over a table and apply vinyl letters and graphics.

Responsibilities

• Follow layouts to apply vinyl or full-color graphics on substrates.
• Prepare substrates by cutting, painting, laminating, and cleaning.
• Weed excess vinyl and manage varying image complexities.
• Operate and maintain printers used in production.
• Perform quality checks by reading work orders and proofreading.
• Finish pieces with laminating or mounting as needed.
• Report inventory levels and reorder stock to management.
• Keep storage areas clean and organized.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist Will

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
• Operate and maintain printer(s)
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
• Clean and maintain storage areas

Ideal Qualifications For FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist

• 1-2 years of experience in sign production preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
• Ability to use light power equipment

Compensation: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
