Job summary

FASTSIGNS of High Point, NC seeks a dependable Sign Production Specialist to create and assemble sign and graphic products in a fast-paced, creative environment.

You will cut printed graphics, apply vinyl, perform laminating, and support installations; must read work orders, ensure accuracy, and strive for high-quality output.

Qualifications

• Experience with sign production is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret Work Orders.
• Capable of lifting 75+ pounds and standing long periods.
• Valid NC driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a substrate.
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application including cutting, painting, laminating, and cleaning.
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images; manage varying sizes and complexities.
• Perform quality assurance by reading Work Orders and proofreading for errors.
• Finish by laminating and mounting printed pieces; ensure high-quality output.
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered.
• Clean and maintain storage areas; manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Creative work is performed within the FASTSIGNS Center sign production area that is fully equipped with top-of-the-line sign-making equipment. Position requirements include cutting printed graphics using a variety of wall cutters, saws, and Exacto blades, as well as applying the product to substrates. The Production Specialist may be required to work in the field performing installations to vehicles, and building interiors and exteriors using a ladder or mechanical lift system. Careful attention to detail utilizing work orders that outline specifics for each custom order is paramount. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with problem-solving skills who pays very close attention to accuracy and detail. Comprehensive training in all aspects of this position will be provided. Responsibilities

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium.
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application. This may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc.
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images.
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards.
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces.
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered.
• Clean and maintain storage areas.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Typical Physical Demands

• Ability to stand/kneel for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 75 or more pounds.
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate.
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work.
• Ability to use light power equipment
• Ability to fulfill projects in wide temperature variances and exterior weather conditions.
• Present and maintain a good driving record. Safely operate all vehicles and promptly report any incidents/infractions

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of safe operation of power tools, general construction tools/methods, ability to measure, level, and cut straight lines.
• Good math and proof-reading skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment (approximately 10 projects per day)
• Enthusiasm for completing HIGH QUALITY projects efficiently.
• Exceptionally detail-oriented to ensure every part of a project comes out correctly the first time
• Valid State of North Carolina Driver’s License
• Efficient at problem solving and creatively come up with solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
• Ability to use light power equipment
