Job summary

FASTSIGNS is hiring a full-time Sign Production Specialist. You will follow layouts to apply vinyl and full-color graphics, prepare substrates, weed excess vinyl, and perform quality assurance to ensure high standards. The role includes finishing, inventory reporting, and maintaining storage areas.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in sign production, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift 50+ pounds. This is a fast-paced position requiring accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of sign production experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (4+ hours).
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Ability to bend over/lean to apply vinyl at a waist-height table.
• Ability to work under pressure to produce high-volume, high-quality work.
• Ability to use light power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphics on substrates.
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application (cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning).
• Weed excess vinyl from images; adapt techniques to size and material.
• Perform quality checks by reading Work Orders and proofreading for errors.
• Finish by laminating or mounting printed pieces.
• Report inventory levels and reorders to the production manager or franchisee.
• Maintain and clean storage areas.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist Will:

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
• Clean and maintain storage areas

Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist:

• 1-2 years of experience in sign production preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
• Ability to use light power equipment
