Job summary

FASTSIGNS of Geneva is seeking a part-time Sign Production and Installation Specialist to join our team. You will transform layouts into finished vinyl graphics and install them on site for customers.

Responsibilities include preparing substrates, weeding vinyl, operating printers, and performing quality checks while maintaining clean storage areas and reporting inventory needs. The role requires lifting 50 pounds and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Experience in sign production is a plus but not required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50+ pounds.
• Ability to apply vinyl letters and graphics on substrates with tools.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights.

Responsibilities

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphics on substrates.
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application (cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning).
• Weed excess vinyl; adjust techniques by size and complexity.
• Operate and maintain printer(s).
• Read Work Orders, perform quality checks, and proof for errors.
• Finish by laminating or mounting printed pieces.
• Install finished graphics offsite at customer locations.
• Report inventory levels and stock to center/production manager.
• Keep storage areas clean and organized.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist Will:

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
• Operate and maintain printer(s)
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Install finished graphics offsite at customer location
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
• Clean and maintain storage areas

Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist:

• Experience in sign production preferred but not necessary
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
• Ability to use light power equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to perform tasks at heights on a ladder
