Responsibilities

• Teach introductory levels of ASL in accordance with ACFFL and school standards.
• Help students develop both linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness of the Deaf community.
• Design and deliver engaging, communicative lessons that integrate Deaf culture and history.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to express themselves through ASL.
• Develop assessments and track student progress to ensure meaningful skill development.
• Utilize technology daily, including Google applications, to enhance instruction.
• Participate in curriculum development from the primary level onward.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies, ASL Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• New Jersey teaching certification required or in progress.
• Highly organized, flexible, enthusiastic, and collaborative.

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
