Job summary

The Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL) has openings for Sign Language Interpreters for the 2026-2027 school year. The main responsibility is to interpret for deaf and hard of hearing students mainstreamed into classes, assemblies and events during the school day.

Educational Interpreter License from the Illinois State Board of Education is required. Compensation starts at $26.21–$32.91 per hour with paid sick/personal leave and health insurance benefits.

Qualifications

• Educational Interpreter License from the State of Illinois State Board of Education.
• Experience interpreting for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in mainstreamed settings preferred.
