Houston City College seeks an Interpreter/Transliterator to provide direct interpretation and support for classes, events, and student activities, including preparation, consumer relations, and ongoing professional development. You will interpret at basic to some higher level, review course materials, collaborate with faculty and staff, and mentor junior interpreters while pursuing continuing education.
This role requires BEI Basic II or RID CI/CT, and at least two years in a college setting; a

High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university required or four (4) years directly related work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Hold Texas Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) Certification Basic, Level II or Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Certification CI and CT.
Two (2) years working in a college or university setting experience required.
