Responsibilities include real-time ASL interpretation during classes, meetings, and school events, fostering clear communication among students, teachers, staff, and families, and upholding confidentiality and ethics.

Qualifications

• ASL proficiency required or strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma required; associate/bachelor's degree valued.
• Eligible for Kansas licensure to work as a sign language interpreter in educational environments.
• RID certification or equivalent preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; an Associates or Bachelors degree is highly valued.
• Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or an equivalent credential preferred.
• Eligible for Kansas licensure to work as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Previous experience in a school setting is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
