Job summary

State of Oklahoma's Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur is seeking a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to provide interpreting services for school functions, conferences, meetings, assemblies, IEPs, medical meetings with nursing staff, parent homes, and other events as requested.

The role requires state certification through DRS/QAST and national certification through RID, with opportunities to participate in in-service training and workshops to maintain certification and professional

Job Description

Basic Purpose

Position interprets for different school functions, conferences, meetings, assemblies, IEP meetings, medical meetings with nursing staff, parent homes and sorority when requested and psychological testing when requested. Assist in special programs and activities when interpreting is necessary. Attend in-service training as scheduled and interpret workshops as required to keep certification current.

Education And Experience

State certification through DRS/QAST (Quality Assurance Screening Test). National certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

Position is located at Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur.

Preferred Qualifications

American Sign Language Skills.
