Job summary

FASTSIGNS of Erie is seeking a dependable Sign Installer to support our workload of signage installations. You will perform pre-wiring, installation, programming, and maintenance for signs of all sizes on poles, buildings, and other structures using a wide range of tools.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-minded, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic electrical knowledge is required, with prior installation experience a plus; candidates must lift, climb, and travel as

Qualifications

• Basic electrical/wiring knowledge.

• Ability to install vinyl graphics on flat surfaces.
• Must have a professional set of hand tools.
• Unrestricted driver's license with clean driving record.
• Previous sign installation experience preferred.
• Physically able to perform sign installations including lifting and climbing.

Responsibilities

• Loads and transports signs to installation location.
• Prepares worksite by removing previous signage and ensuring electrical sources are in order.
• Follows safety policies and installs signs in accordance with the work order.
• Drives and operates bucket truck safely.
• Completes reports or logs and coordinates with Project Manager.
• Performs quality control and returns to supervisor with findings.
• Occasional travel and overnight projects may be required.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.

Job description

FASTSIGNS of Erie is looking for an addition to our talented team of sign makers to assist in our workload of signage installations.

The Sign Installer performs pre-wiring, installation, programming, and maintenance of signs for existing and new clients. He or she will install signs of all sizes and mediums on poles, buildings, billboards, and other structures using a wide range of tools.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and who is determined to provide outstanding service to our customers. Basic electrical/wiring knowledge is required, and previous installation experience is a plus. Candidates must be committed to safety and must have the physical ability to perform the requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Confirms signs accurately conform to the work order (i.e., spelling, medium, size, etc.)
• Loads and transports signs to installation location
• Prepares worksite by removing previous signage, preparing surfaces, and ensuring all electrical sources are in order (if applicable)
• Follows all safety policies and procedures during preparation and installation
• Installs signs in strict compliance with the work order
• Drives and Operates bucket truck safely
• Cleans installation site when work is complete
• Occasional Travel and Overnight Projects may be required
• Performs a quality control review and reports findings to supervisor
• Completes any reports or logs
• Work closely with Project Manager to accomplish work as scheduled before deadlines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform sign installations, which includes lifting, climbing, and working at heights greater than 10 feet
• Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record

Any needed skills that a candidate is not currently skilled in can be taught through on the job training. If installer is not trained to install vinyl graphics, training will be provided. Sign types that Installer will be responsible for include, but not limited to:

• Channel Letters
• Pylon Signs
• Monument Signs
• Window Graphics
• Rough Texture/Brick Graphics
• Decorative Lighting
