Apex Sign Group is seeking a dependable Sign Builder / Sign Production Associate in San Antonio, TX. You will fabricate and assemble signage from design through finished product, using tools and CNC equipment, while maintaining safety and quality.

The role emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, and meeting customer deadlines. The ideal candidate will read drawings, cut and assemble components, apply vinyl graphics, and weld when required, in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication/assembly of signage or related manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to read drawings, layouts, and production instructions.
• Wamiliarity with shop safety and PPE usage is required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and production orders.
• Fabricate and assemble sign components per specifications.
• Apply vinyl graphics and assemble sign faces and panels.
• Safely operate panel saws, drills, CNC routers, laminators, and vinyl cutters.
• MIG/TIG weld as required and trained.
• Inspect finished work for dimensional accuracy and quality.

Position SummaryThe Sign Builder / Sign Production Associate is responsible for supporting the fabrication, assembly, and production of high quality signage while meeting Apex Sign Group’s expectations for safety, quality, efficiency, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.This is a hands on shop floor position for someone who enjoys building, problem solving, working with tools, and seeing a project come together from design through finished product. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast paced production environment.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret drawings, layouts, specifications, work orders, and production instructions.Fabricate and assemble various types of signage according to project specifications and quality standards.Measure, cut, drill, fasten, assemble, and finish sign components and materials.Work with materials including aluminum, steel, acrylic, vinyl, and other sign substrates.Apply vinyl graphics and assist with sign faces, panels, and other finished components as required.Safely operate production equipment such as panel saws, drills, drill presses, impact drivers, vinyl cutters, laminators, CNC/routing equipment, and other shop machinery.Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.Perform MIG/TIG welding when required and when properly trained/qualified.Inspect completed work to ensure dimensions, appearance, construction, and quality meet specifications.Identify production or quality issues and work with supervisors and team members to resolve them.Manage assigned work efficiently to support production schedules and customer deadlines.Communicate production delays, material concerns, safety issues, or quality problems promptly.Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.Support other production departments and work centers as business needs require.Follow established production processes, OSHA requirements, and Apex safety procedures.Perform other related duties as assigned.What Makes Someone Successful in This RoleTeamwork & CommunicationWorks collaboratively with others and understands that every work center contributes to the final product.
