The Opportunity

As a SIGINT ANALYST in the Data Analysis and Reporting Cell (DARC) assigned to the SOCNORTH J2, you will showcase your SI analytic talent by supporting core Intelligence Community (IC) missions vital to national security. Serving as a critical member of a threat analysis and strategic planning team, you will directly support the intelligence requirements of Special Operations Command – North (SOCNORTH) and the wider Special Operations Forces Emerging Threat, Operations and Planning Support (SOFETOPS) enterprise. In this role, you will leverage advanced intelligence methodologies to provide "target discovery and development." By leveraging Dialed-Number Recognition and Digital Network Intelligence (DNR/DNI), you will evaluate complex network environments which feed into large analytical products. This includes analyzing target topologies, communication pathways, and data flows by synthesizing Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), to create a seamless flow of information alongside a strong understanding and utilization of Collateral Telemetry Data (CTD) to assist and enhance other data sets. Additionally, must possess an understanding of cyber technologies and specialized intelligence methodologies, demonstrating a proven ability to extract actionable intelligence from complex cyber collection environments. Central to this role is a technical appreciation of the strategic significance of end-point collection and the unique data streams it yields. Lastly, must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) organizational structure, including their operational cyber capabilities, mission-aligned authorities, and the specialized acquisition tools leveraged to gather and analyze high-value national security intelligence. DARC Analysts must have the ability to analyze large amounts of technical data, such as IP addresses, MAC Addresses, Call Data Records, advertising identifiers, GNSS information, and provide credible intelligence assessments on threats, threat actor capabilities & intentions, and networks in accordance with and determined by SOCNORTH missions and Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR). Due to the nature of inter-agency interaction and location of operations away from SOCNORTH HQ, analysts must be self-motivated and able to operate efficiently and effectively without direct supervision in joint and inter-agency environments while maintaining responsive communication. to SOCNORTH J2.

Responsibilities

Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct technical analysis against Counter External State Actors (ESA), Maligned State Actors (MSA), Counter Terrorism (CT), and Counter Threat Networks (CTN) in strict alignment with the National Defense Strategy (NDS).
  • Provide direct operational support by seamlessly coordinating, planning, and executing intelligence collection operations across traditional, non-traditional, and cyberspace domains.
  • Act as a foundational leader by initiating SIGINT requirement processes and organizing program methodologies.
  • Conduct advanced analysis of collection and open-source data to generate insights and leads.
  • Ensure target continuity, profile targets and their activities, and develop techniques to gain additional target information.
  • Maintain appropriate databases for targeting, tasking, and analysis.
  • Identify intelligence gaps to tailor current collection or enable new collection to close the gaps.
  • Employ multiple analysis disciplines such as pattern recognition against targets' communications, network usage, and digital footprints.
  • Be part of a team, working together with government, military, and contractor personnel to develop shared understandings of intelligence needs, mission relevance, and areas of expertise.
  • Apply your innate curiosity and analytical talent to form hypotheses, critically assess and choose analysis techniques, then query, merge, enrich, evaluate, and pivot within data to attain and share insights.
  • Distill, document, contextualize, and share your findings—including any new tradecraft that you develop—with teammates, stakeholders, and intelligence consumers.
Qualifications
Required
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
  • Specialized Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a Target Digital Network Analyst (TDNA), Digital Network Exploitation Analyst (DNEA), or military occupational specialty (MOS) equivalent.
  • Operational & Command Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in positions of responsibility within an O-6 or above tactical, operational, or strategic-level command, or while supporting a DoD contract of similar size and scope.
  • Targeting & Intelligence Expertise: Proven experience working with NSA/CSS or Special Operations Forces (SOF) organizations in targeting, intelligence analysis, and supporting global intelligence operations.
  • National Agency Integration: Strong understanding of NSA/CSS-specific tools, intelligence collection dataflows, organizational policies, and procedures.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstration of advanced intelligence analysis skills, including target development, social network analysis, and metadata analysis. Must be proficient with specialized SIGINT collection platforms, network analysis tools, and data-mining techniques.
  • Knowledge Management: Working knowledge of the tools, methods, and concepts of portals, customer databases, and other real-time or near-real-time knowledge management systems.
  • Professional Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with government, military, and civilian personnel.

  • Joint/SOF & Agency Experience: Extensive experience working in or with NSA/CSS or Joint/Special Operations Forces (SOF) organizations, specifically regarding targeting, intelligence analysis, and supporting global operations.
  • Operational Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently with limited government oversight while functioning effectively as a collaborative team member within a joint working environment, specifically on a Joint Theater-level staff.
  • Industry & Mission Certifications: Possession of one or more of the following certifications or course completions:
    • GSM, UMTS, and CDMA cellular collection certification
    • Digital Network Intelligence Course
    • SOCOM SIGINT Operators Course
    • CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and/or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • Cyber PDSI Work Roles: Prior experience in any Cyber PDSI Work Role (or equivalent), including:
      • Exploitation Analyst
      • Digital Network Exploitation Analyst
      • Cyberspace Operator
      • Expeditionary Cyber Operator
    • Analytic Support Officer
