Job summary

Placements24, a growing logistics and supply chain company, is seeking an Information Security Analyst to monitor and analyze security events, configure SIEMs, and support incident response in East London, Eastern Cape.

You will work with Splunk, QRadar or ArcSight, analyze logs from various sources, and collaborate with IT to strengthen security controls.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years' SIEM experience, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity or related field.
• 2–4 years of information security with focus on SIEM administration and analysis.
• Hands-on with SIEM tools such as Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight.
• Familiarity with various log sources (firewall logs, Windows event logs, web server logs).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or SIEM-specific certs) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize SIEM platforms to collect and analyze logs from diverse sources.
• Develop and tune SIEM rules, alerts, and dashboards to detect threats and anomalies.
• Monitor security alerts, perform initial triage and investigation.
• Assist in incident response: scope identification, containment, and documentation.
• Analyze security data to identify trends and weaknesses.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper log sources integration.
