Job summary

Goldbelt, Inc. is seeking a SIEM Content Developer to research and develop new threat detection use cases based on emerging threats, threat intelligence, and analyst feedback.

You will work with stakeholders and cybersecurity SMEs to identify coverage gaps, develop scripts to enhance SIEM capabilities, and tailor signatures for specific programs and applications. This role requires solid IT and security background and active clearance.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of IT experience.
  • Three (3) years working with a SIEM in a content development or Incident Response role.
  • Three (3) years of System and/or Network Administration experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining scripts (PowerShell, Python or SPL).
  • Must possess a current DoD Top Secret Clearance and be eligible for an IT-I/TS clearance at proposal submission.

Responsibilities

  • Works with stakeholders and cybersecurity tool SMEs to identify gaps in security protection and analytics capabilities.
  • Develops custom scripts to enhance SIEM functionality; reviews data feeds and recommends improvements.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify critical systems and create alerting priorities and signatures.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Summary:

The SIEM Content Developer researches and develops new threat detection use cases based on emerging threats, threat intelligence research and Threat Detection Analyst feedback.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works with stakeholders and cybersecurity tool SMEs to identify gaps in security protection and analytics capabilities.
  • Develops custom scripts to enhance SIEM functionality. Reviews the quality of data feeds and recommend and/or implement improvements.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify critical systems and application components to develop alerting priorities and create signatures tailored to individual programs and applications.
  • Perform other duties as needed or required.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of various log formats
  • Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Strong understanding of network architecture
  • Understanding of Defense-in-Depth
  • Analytical skills to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse teams and individuals

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of relevant IT experience
  • Three (3) years working with a SIEM in a content development or Incident Response role.
  • Three (3) years of System and/or Network Administration experience
  • Experience developing and maintaining scripts (preferably using Powershell, Python or SPL)
  • Must possess a current DOD Top Secret Clearance and be eligible for an IT-I Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 5 (T5) at time of proposal submission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $99,000 to $175,000.
